Cancellation Policy

Last updated February 17, 2026

This cancellation policy applies to ShelfForge Studio engagements. It complements the cancellation provisions inside each statement of work and reflects our practice across active and completed projects.

1. Eligibility for cancellation

Engagements with ShelfForge Studio are project-based. You may request cancellation of a signed brief within fourteen calendar days of the commencement date provided that no production has begun, no third-party tooling has been ordered, and no exclusive material has been reserved against your project. Cancellations after this window are reviewed on a per-stage basis, set out below.

2. How to request cancellation

Send a written cancellation notice to hello@browse-coreportal.one with the project reference, signed by an authorised contact at your organisation. We acknowledge receipt within two business days. Verbal cancellations are not actionable; this protects both sides from miscommunication on something that affects production schedules.

3. What this cancellation policy covers

This policy covers fees paid to ShelfForge Studio for design, prototyping, and rollout services as defined in your statement of work. It does not cover third-party costs that have been ordered against your project on your written approval — including freight, custom tooling, hardware longer than 14 weeks lead time, and exclusive substrates with a non-cancellable production slot.

4. Cancellation windows by stage

Concept stage: full cancellation possible within fourteen calendar days. Concept-to-prototype handoff: 25% of stage fee retained. Active prototype build: 60% of stage fee retained, plus committed material costs. Active rollout: stage fees and material costs retained in full; remaining stages cancellable. We share a stage tracker monthly so you always know which window applies.

5. Cancellation process and timing

On receipt of a valid cancellation, we suspend work within one business day and issue a final reconciliation within fifteen business days. The reconciliation reflects work delivered to date, committed third-party costs, and any refundable balance. Refundable balances are returned by bank transfer within thirty business days of agreement on the reconciliation.

6. Exceptions

Custom tooling charges and prepaid third-party slots are not refundable once committed on your written approval. Where work product has been delivered and accepted, the corresponding fee is retained. Where the cause of cancellation is a documented failure on our side — missed milestones beyond agreed tolerance, repeated quality lapses — we treat the engagement as our responsibility and refund the affected fees in full.

7. Consumer rights under Korean law

Where this policy is more restrictive than non-waivable consumer rights under Korean law, the law takes precedence. For business-to-business engagements, the terms set out here generally apply as written. We comply with the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce where applicable.

8. Records and disputes

We retain cancellation records for seven years after the engagement closes. Disputes are first reviewed by our Client Success Manager and, failing resolution, escalated to a senior partner before any external mediation. Mediation, where required, is conducted in Seoul under Korean law.
